Treasury Sec. Scott Bessent is expected to announce a massive wave of sanctions targeting Iran’s economy on Monday.
Iran’s Supreme National Security Council, Mohsen Rezaei, has vowed that Iran
will retaliate in a “seismic” manner to any sanctions. He also warned that any country working to support the sanctions would be committing an “act of war” against Iran.
“If the economic war continues, not a single drop of oil will be exported٫ neither through the Strait of Hormuz nor from anywhere in the Persian Gulf. Iran will regard any country’s participation in or support for America’s economic war against the Iranian people as an act of war,” Rezaei wrote on X.
