China’s Foreign Ministry put out a statement Saturday saying it “respects” President Donald Trump opting to rebrand artificial intelligence as “super intelligence.”
However, Chinese officials have not adopted the term themselves in government communications, despite Trump claiming that China’s president, Xi Jinping, took a liking to it.
Throughout the week, Trump has repeatedly said he feels “super intelligence” is a more accurate term because the adjective “artificial” makes AI sound “fake.”
