CHICAGO, ILLINOIS — On a Saturday afternoon, a 28-year-old concealed carry license holder critically injured a 26-year-old woman during a dispute. The incident occurred inside an apartment on the 6100 block of South Loomis Boulevard.
During the altercation, the older woman, who possesses both a FOID and a concealed carry permit, shot the younger woman in her right arm. The injured woman was rushed to the University of Chicago Medical Center in critical condition.
Following the shooting, the shooter was taken into custody, and the police recovered a firearm at the scene. Detectives are currently conducting an investigation into the incident.
Since the concealed carrier was taken into custody, it’s hard to say if this was a legitimate self-defense shooting or not. With that said, having something like concealed carry insurance is critical to help support you financially and emotionally, and of course legally, if you ever need to use your firearm in self-defense.
