Between nine and 10 people have been injured in a shooting on Saturday at a splash pad in Rochester Hills, Michigan, a suburb of Detroit, with the youngest victim being 8 years old, the Oakland County Sheriff said in a Saturday evening press conference.

Oakland County Sheriff Michael Bouchard said he doesn’t know the status of the victims who have “varying kinds of injuries.” The victims have been taken to up to four local hospitals.

He said the suspect appeared to have gotten out of a vehicle, started shooting, and then left the Brooklands Plaza Splash Pad in a “random act.”

The suspect is “contained,” and law enforcement, including SWAT and armored vehicles, have a perimeter around the home where the person is located, Bouchard said, adding that they’re trying to get a search warrant.
