Christmas Suppressor Gift Guide – GAT Daily (Guns Ammo Tactical)

Christmas is right around the corner, and maybe this year you are considering bringing the gift of silence to a loved one. There has literally never been a better time. Suppressors are everywhere, made by tons of companies at a ton of different price points. Not only that, but in January 2026, we are going to see the removal of tax stamps. Yep, no more $200 tax stamps required to purchase a suppressor.

The Gift of a Christmas Suppressor

The paperwork still exists, and some states might outright ban cans, but owning a suppressor has never been easier. Speaking of paperwork, buying a can and then giving it to someone isn’t the best step to take. That requires double the paperwork, and the easiest, most legal way to give someone a suppressor is to purchase a gift card to a suppressor retailer and allow them to pick their own.

That leaves one big question: how much should the gift card be for? Suppressors vary in price and design, so you’ll need to be pretty precise. With that in mind, we are going to provide you with several options so you can research the price at your retailer and purchase the right amount for a gift card.

Rifle Suppressor Options

Rifles come in tons of different calibers, so I wanted to provide two rifle-specific designs: one for a good all-around can for anything up to 7.62 and one dedicated 5.56 can, since so many people rock AR-15s and similar 5.56 rifles.

Good All-Around – IWS7

The IWS7 is a low-back-pressure 7.62 suppressor that has no minimum barrel restrictions and is full-auto rated. It’s tough, well-made, and designed to turn “POW” into “pew.” It uses the popular HUB mounting system, and you can easily move it between guns.

As far as low back-pressure .30 cal cans go, it’s quite affordable and can be found for around $850 (Note: The titanium IWS7TI version is closer to $1,150 – $1,250).

If you want less weight and want to spend more money, the IWS7TI is a titanium option that weighs only 13 ounces. Keep in mind it’s not full-auto rated and does have a 20-inch minimum barrel length requirement for 7.62 NATO cartridges.

Dedicated 5.56 – Velos 556K

My personal favorite suppressor for 5.56 rifles is the Velos LBP 556K. It’s a low-back-pressure can in a short K configuration. The 556K series isn’t just full-auto-rated, but also belt-fed-rated. It has no minimum barrel length restrictions either. It does a fantastic job of directing gas away from the shooter and won’t choke you out.

It’s hefty at 12.4 ounces, but it’s tough as nails and does a great job of killing noise. It’s also pricey at around $989.

Shotgun Suppressor – SilencerCo Salvo 12

There aren’t many suppressor options for shotguns, which is a real shame. The Salvo 12 offers you a proven, well-reputed design from a company known for making solid suppressors. The Salvo 12 attaches to your shotgun via a set of specialized chokes. This makes it easy to attach to a variety of shotguns; all you need is the right adapter.

The flat-top design allows you to use something as simple as a bead and ensures the suppressor doesn’t block your sights. It can suffer through the worst buckshot and can reduce the street howitzer’s noise drastically.

Be aware, it doesn’t work well with Flitecontrol wads. It’s also modular, and you can shrink its size a fair bit. For around $990 – $1,175, your loved one’s repeating claymore will be a lot quieter.

Rimfire – IWS22

A rimfire suppressor is the most fun you can have with your pants on. The cheap ammo, commonly available subsonic ammo, and light recoil make it a ton of fun to shoot suppressed. The IWS22 is a lightweight can at only six ounces. It won’t weigh down your pistol or rifle and create an off-balance feeling.

The IWS22 is tough enough to work with .22LR, .22WMR, .17HMR, and 5.7x28mm. Shooters can disassemble the can for easy cleaning, which is crucial with that dirty .22LR. Plus, the IWS22 is downright cheap for a high-quality can at around $419 – $440.

Handgun and PCC Suppressor – Obsidian 45

When we get into handguns and PCCs, it’s easy to swap cans. With most handguns, you’ll need a booster, but that’s an easy install. With a PCC, you’ll need a fixed barrel adapter. I went with the Obsidian 45 because it can be used for a ton of different guns. The .45 ACP bore and interchangeable end caps allow you to swap to maximize suppression with different calibers.

This can is rugged and can also work with common lever gun calibers and even rounds like .350 Legend and .450 Bushmaster, as long as you shoot within the barrel limitations. The modular design allows you to shrink the can from 8.6 inches to 6.7 inches. The can weighs 12.8 ounces in its full configuration and 10.7 ounces when shortened.

This highly versatile can retails for around $908.

Silence Is Golden

Suppressors are amazing firearm accessories.  They suppress gunshots, reduce recoil, muzzle rise, and make shooting even more fun. Sometimes it’s tough to shoot unsuppressed. Silence is truly golden, and giving the gift of a suppressor is an amazing way to treat your loved one.
